Insect Art

For me as an entomologist it became indispensable to introduce the insects in my art works. I implement the project "insect art" since 2023 with my six year old sun.

All the works have a conceptional background and give references to possible reasons of the threats for insects.

None of the insects, that was used, was killed for the art project. They were catches from scientific studies and studies about species protection.

Für mich als Entomologe wurde es unausweichlich Insekten in meine künstlerische Arbeit zu integrieren. Das Projekt "Insektenkunst" setze ich seit letztem Jahr mit meinem sechs Jahre alten Sohn um.

Alle Arbeiten haben einen konzeptionellen Hintergrund und beschäftigen sich mit den möglichen Gründen der Bedrohung für Insekten.

Keines der Insekten, das genutzt wurde, wurde für das Kunst-Projekt getötet. Es handelt sich um Fänge aus wissenschaftlichen und artenschutzfachlichen Untersuchungen.

Trapped by Light. (2024) Table lamp, glue & wings of different lepidoptera.

Trophies. (2024) Stem discs of oak, hot glue & torso of imagos of Lucanus cervus.
